I’ve been interviewed recently by Al-Madinah Newspaper, which is part of the newspaper’s reconnaissance about an issue of the local Cinema field. It will be published in the next newspaper’s Wednesday Appendix, in 14/7/2010.

تم لقائي مؤخرا من قِبل صحيفة المدينة، وذلك كجزء من استطلاع عن احدى قضايا السينما المحلية. وسيتم نشره بإذن الله في ملحق الأربعاء للصحيفة، في 14/7/2010م.

I’ve been asked by a number of my followers why the official name and the website are mainly in English. Well, simply because the website is not personally funded, so the design, tools, etc. cannot be controlled, and the website is done with the free WordPress, which of course uses English as the main language, especially in lines properties’ matters such as: alignment, margins, and so on. That forced me to adopt English in main things like: names of the pages, viewing English before Arabic in the News and in other contents). Beside, as I’m a Mac user (and loving it!) the Arabic support is unfortunately limited, comparing with Windows. Although, I did some improvements lately to try make the website viewed in Arabic & English equally.

And as I mentioned weeks ago, we are working on the official identity, which we plan to launch soon as part of the private establishment. And as the website is part of the official identity it will be privately funded and implemented – with all details, and the display or viewing language will be in Arabic as the primary language, and that applies to the official name and logo as well. Which will be a thing to be proud of.

سألني عدد من المتابعين لي عن سبب جعل الأسم الرسمي والموقع باللغة الإنجليزية، والسبب ببساطة أن الموقع ليس بتمويل خاص (بمعنى أن التصميم، أدوات الموقع، الخ، لايمكن التحكم بها). بل تم تنفيذه باستخدام خدمة WordPress المجانية، والتي بالطبع تعتمد اللغة الإنجليزية، خصوصا في أمور مثل خصائص الأسطر ومحاذاتها. وهو ماجعلني مجبراً على اعتماد اللغة الإنجليزية في الموقع في أمور أساسية (مثل: أسماء الصفحات، عرض الإنجليزية قبل العربية في الأخبار، الخ). بالإضافة لأني مستخدم لنظام ماكنتوش (والذي أعشقه!) للأسف النظام يدعم اللغة العربية بشكل محدود، مقارنة بنظام ويندوز. إلا أنني قمت بتعديلات مؤخرا لمحاولة جعل عرض الموقع باللغتين بدون فرق.

وذكرت قبل أسابيع، أننا نعمل على الهوية الرسمية والتي نخطط لإطلاقها قريبا بإذن الله كخطوة أولى لإطلاق المنشأة الخاصة. ولأن موقع الإنترنت هو جزء من الهوية الرسمية فسيكون وقتها خاصاً في تمويله وتنفيذ كل تفاصيله – والعرض فيه سيكون باختيار الزائر. والأسم الرسمي والشعار كذلك سيكون بالعربية، وهو أمر سأفخر به.

I was interviewed a week ago in AlMadina Newspaper about Children’s Cinema, which was published today in a full report about this subject in the newspaper’s appendix (Wednesday). The report entitled (Children’s Cinema.. I’ve been attending a number of meetings in this period of time at King Abdulaziz City of Science & Technology (KACST). The goal is a cooperation for the start and set-up of a personal cartoon establishment, as well as a preparation for  multimedia training programs created by the Japanese company Index, taking place at the City.

The program will start in March 2010, which will include: graphics, animation and video games. An Ad for this program has been published the in local newspapers. If you weren’t able to see it, and you desire to obtain more information for the program registration, you can email me personally.

أقوم هذه الفترة بحضور عدد من الإجتماعات في مدينة الملك عبدالعزيز للعلوم والتقنية KACST، لهدف إطلاق منشأة خاصة للإنتاج الكارتوني، بالإضافة لتجهيز برامج تدريب الملتيميديا الخاص بشركة إنديكس اليابانية في المدينة.

سيبدأ البرنامج التدريبي في مارس 2010 م ، والذي سيتضمن: الجرافيكس، الرسوم المتحركة وألعاب الفيديو، وقد تم نشر الإعلان الخاص بالبرنامج في الصحف المحليه. من لم يتمكن من الإطلاع عليه ولديه الرغبة في الحصول على مزيد من المعلومات، بإمكانه مراسلتي شخصيا.

I’ve been informed that my website has been blocked from all the staff of King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Riyadh. I’m not sure why, but what I’ve heard is that the website is a “suspect’! (up to the words of one section of technical officials). Maybe it’s because of an article that I wrote a while ago, regarding the war and the suppress on arts by the government and the hard-liners religious authority, specially after the arbitrary decision of preventing cinema industry in our country.

The website has recently been unblocked “after making sure of its safety”!.

تم إعلامي أن موقعي تم حجبه من جميع موظفي مستشفى الملك فيصل التخصصي بالرياض. لا أعلم ماهو السبب بالضبط، إلا أن ما سمعته هو أن الموقع يعتبر “مشبوها!” (بحد تعبير أحدى مسؤولي القسم التقني هناك)، ربما كان ذلك بسبب موضوع سبق وأن كتبته بخصوص محاربة الفن من قِبل النظام والسلطة الدينية، خصوصا بعد القرار التعسفي بمنع صناعة وافتتاح دور سينما.

وقد تم مؤخرا رفع الحجب عن الموقع “بعد التأكد من سلامته!”.

I know that I haven‘t been updating the website constantly and adding new artworks, and the reason is that I’ve been planning and working for months for professional cartoon productions which will be announced then. And soon over the next few months, I will be making big steps which will be a big shift for me personally and for the Arabic media in general.

أعلم بأني لا أقوم بتحديث الموقع بشكل مستمر وإضافة أعمال فنية جديدة، والسبب هو أني أخطط وأعمل منذ أشهر طويلة لأعمال كارتونية احترافيه سيتم الإعلان عنها لاحقا. وقريبا خلال الأشهر القليلة القادمة سأقوم بخطوات كبيرة بحول الله، والتي ستعتبر نقلة لي شخصيا وللإعلام العربي بشكل عام.

As the big Japanese multimedia company Index had an agreement with King Abdulaziz City For Science & Technology (KACST) in Riyadh, KSA. Today, I was one of the attendance in the meeting that the general manager Mr. Katsushi Miyakami held at the city, which was about the gaming industry in the KSA and what the opportunities are..

One of the most beautiful & well done animation networks is MyToons, which is recently spreading internationally, particularly when the network launched more than a film competition world wide on the web.

Currently, K.D.’s animated shorts are showing on MyToons.com, including the animated short film (Sida) which was announced Famous Today few weeks ago at the same network.

أحد أجمل شبكات الرسوم المتحركة MyToons والذي بدأ في الانتشار بشكل سريع مؤخرا، خصوصا عندما اطلقت الشبكة أكثر من مسابقة للتحريك على مستوى العالم على الشبكة العنكبوتية.

حاليا، تعرض أفلام كارتون خ.د. القصيرة من خلال شبكة MyToons ، وتتضمن فلم (سدا) الذي أُعلن Famous Today في نفس الشبكة قبل فترة وجيزة.

My short animated cartoon Sida is now showing at MyToons community at the main page, as “Famous Today!“. I’m so pleased about this announcement, especially when the film has reached the finalist in Bust In & Win competition, which is organized by the same network, it included different artistic styles & it’s growing up so fast. Thanks to “MyToons” and to all who’ve watched “Sida”.

فيلمي الكرتوني القصير سدا يعرض الآن على شبكة MyToons الفنية وذلك في الصفحة الرئيسية كفلم (مشهور اليوم!) أو Famous Today! . أنا سعيد بوصول الفيلم لهذه المرتبة خصوصا عند وصوله أيضا الى النهائي في مسابقة Bust In & Win التي نظمتها الشبكة، والتي تحتوي على أقسام مختلفة كالرسومات الفنية والأفلام الكارتونية بمختلف الأساليب. شكر للعاملين في موقع MyToons ولكل من شاهد فيلم “سدا”.
